Getting In
Our gate automations come with remote control fobs for access. However, you might want to benefit from the convenience of having a keypad entry system, and an audio or video system to see who is calling before you push the button to open the automatic gate for them. We can even give you the ability to let people in, such as the gardener, when you aren't even on the premises. Most of the intercoms we install have a keypad so that the gates can be opened with a code.
Where the site permits, some clients like to have an entry loop in the ground outside of the gates which will magnetically realise when your car is over it and cause the gate to open. This would also, of course, work for anyone else who passed over the loop, so its operation could be limited by a timer so that it only operated between certain hours, for example.
Letting In
Visitors will not be able to enter your property unless you have given them permission to do so. Permission can be granted in a number of ways: you could issue remote controllers to anyone you wanted to give free access to; or you could use the various options of intercoms.
GSM Audio Intercoms
These intercoms use a SIM card which calls a phone of your choice when a visitor pushes the call button. If that phone is not answered, the system will try the next phone you nominate in the sequence, up to five phones. You can then speak with the visitor and open the gate for them with your phone. There is a small ongoing cost to keep the SIM card topped up, and a good mobile phone reception in the area is essential. An advantage of this type of intercom is that for people you choose to have free access, their phone number can be installed as having door opening authority, so when they phone the intercom the gate will open - a convenient way to avoid handing out remote controls to do the same job. As most intercoms we fit have a keypad, the gates can be opened by keying in a code of your choice, again something that you could share with trusted visitors.
GSM Video Intercoms
As for the audio GSM systems, the added benefit is that you can see the visitors on your mobile phone or tablet, and control the gate from them. Other functions are fewer than for the audio GSM type, for example door opening might not be available, and all phones on the list will ring simultaneously.
Wired Audio Intercoms
A call station at the gate is wired through to a receiver (or several receivers) which are usually wall-mounted handsets.
Wired video Intercoms
A call station with camera is wired through to a monitor (or several monitors) which may be wall-mounted or desktop mounted. Increasingly popular are wifi monitors in the house with touch-screens, and smart phone connectivity.
Getting Out
To get out you can use your remote controllers, handily kept in the car. That would also do for pedestrian exit, but to avoid having to remember to carry the remote with you, there could be a push to exit button to open the gate, or a coded keypad, or for exit by car an exit loop which would magnetically recognise when your car is above it and cause the gate to open.
